Token Black

Token Black is a fictional character on the animated TV series South Park.

Originally known as Token Williams, he is the only African-American—not to mention racial minority—child in the main characters' class. His name comes from the phrase "token minority," typically used to describe non-white persons thrown into small roles in TV shows and movies. In a satire on racial stereotypes, Token's family is the wealthiest of the families shown on South Park.

Token's first major role came in episode 401, entitled Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000, when the South Park townspeople consider Cartman's hitting Token with a rock as a hate crime.

Since then, he has had one additional major and one minor role on the show.

Token wears a light purple shirt with a letter 'T' in light orange and a pair of dark gray pants.
