The Apes
The Apes emerged from the dark audio jungle of Washington, DC in 1999 to combat the blah-blah of the scene's musical sub-culture. Defying all sub-genre labeling, their music is as much to be felt as it is to be heard.
Members
The Apes are:
- Paul Weil – vocals
- Erick Jackson – bass
- Amanda Klienman – organ/keyboard
- Jeff Schmid – drums
Description
Propelled by Erick Jackson's burning, fur-lined bass growls, Amanda Kleinman's horny and celestial banshee organ, and Jeff Schmid's iron-chest-of-cocaine drums, throat chieftain Paul Weil tattles methodically with mind throttling determination and relentless fervor. The Apes overdriven rock assault drives forward as tales of conquest, social alienation, and a perverse spiritual kinship with the universe become trance-inducing incantations.
The Apes music is raw, loud, and powerful. Every show delivers in spades, and each member of this group is bent on satisfaction – for band and audience.
