Testament (band)
Testament is a thrash metal music group from California. Being one of the most influential American thrash metal bands, they were perhaps the most popular band of that scene to not break into the mainstream and see the success that the Big Four of Thrash did.

Biography
They formed in the San Francisco area in 1983 originally as Legacy. After three years and a few band member changes, they changed their name to Testament when recording their first album, The Legacy because another band held a copyright to the name "The Legacy".
They have released a number of other albums, including Live at Eindhoven, The New Order, Disciples of the Watch, Practice What You Preach, and Souls of Black. They toured with Slayer, Megadeth, and Suicidal Tendencies in 1990 on the 'Clash of the Titans' tour.
Guitarist Alex Skolnick left the band after their 1992 album, The Ritual, to join Savatage. Since then, the band has had many members come and go.
The band is routing in the classic line-up, in 2005.
