Career
Teddy Hart is a member of the legendary Hart Family, the grandson of the late Stu Hart, and the nephew of Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Jim Neidhart and The British Bulldog. His mother is Stu's daughter Georgia, and his father is B.J. Annis, a gym proprietor and fitness guru. Hart was trained as a wrestler in the Hart Family Dungeon by his grandfather and one of his uncles, Bruce Hart.
He debuted in 1998 in Canada as part of the now defunct Mat Rats promotion. In the Calgary based Stampede Wrestling promotion he formed The Hart Foundation 2.0 with his cousin Harry Smith, T.J. Wilson and Jack Evans. The stable would later compete in Major League Wrestling, where Hart teamed with Evans as "The New Hart Foundation".
In 1998 Hart became the youngest person ever signed to a World Wrestling Entertainment Developmental Deal when he was hired by the WWE and sent to the Funkin' Dojo to train with Dory Funk, Jr.. However, Hart was released by the WWE, who cited his "attitude problems" as the reason for the release.
Ring of Honor
On November 1, 2003 Hart competed on a Ring of Honor show in Elizabeth, New Jersey as part of a Scramble Cage Match. After the match (which Hart did not win) he began to perform Moonsaults and executed a Shooting Star Press from the top of the cage rather than selling the moves he had taken. Hart then vomited at ringside. His actions attracted the ire of many wrestlers, as he endangered some wrestlers by performing moves on them which they were not anticipating. Hart attributes his actions to a concussion suffered during the match.
Total Nonstop Action
Hart made several appearances with Total Nonstop Action. In August 2003 he defeated Jonny Storm and then lost to Juventud Guerrera in the course of the Super X Tournament. The latter match was highly acclaimed by many fans, though some criticised it as being a spotfest. He returned in March 2004 as a member of Team Canada. He was released from the promotion along with CM Punk after the two had a fight in a restaurant and had to be separated by Sabu.
Independents
Hart is currently black-balled from many promotions as a result of his unpredictable behaviour. He wrestles regularly for Jersey All Pro Wrestling and also operates a training school in Calgary.
