Taproot (band)
Taproot is a nu metal band from Ann Arbor, Michigan formed in late 1997. Taproot was originally set to sign a deal with Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, but instead opted for another record deal with Atlantic Records. Since Taproot enjoyed Limp Bizkit's music, Taproot sent a demo tape to Fred Durst and Durst enjoyed it. Durst became interested in signing them but never did. Taproot was signed to Velvet Hammer records, after they became fed up with waiting, with the help of System Of A Down. Taproot has become known in nu metal circles, touring with bands such as Papa Roach and KoRn. Taproot's new album titled Blue-Sky Research is expected to be released on August 16th, 2005.
