Originally called the "Star Crew", the Star Syndicate is a Macromedia Flash based community that originated from Newgrounds.com. Their name is derived from the Super Nintendo game Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Much like the Lock Legion, their creation was most likely inspired by the Clock Crew. However, whereas the Lock Legion are dedicated to making mostly quality Flash movies, the Star Syndicate follow the dark side of Flash, submitting terrible entries to provoke amusing retorts from the viewing public, gain recognition, and earn "booby" prizes such as Newgrounds' Turd or Underdog Of The Week awards. Thanks to their multiple alternate accounts, the Syndicate has the power to review, vote and spam anonymously. This method has given them a somewhat bad reputation as they have been accused of "Mass Voting" to keep their entries from being blammed. They also troll forums, committing abusive actions (such as flaming or spamming) which not even their own members are safe from.
They are best known for their "DailyToons" series, which had a new entry submitted every day for 100 days. Each generally consisted of short animations akin to NG Time Trials and Tomorrows_Nobody's "Amateur Hour" series. The Syndicate is also known for other cult classics, such as "Jerry's Quest for Gold", "A BLANK SCREEN", "Fix yout portal", "Chameleon Cat", "SUPA DUPA GAEM PACK", the "Ultimate Prophet" series, "RADICAL SK8 FLASH", Coolboyman's collections, the SS Time Trials (the fifth of which caused e-infamy) and the "Verge of Victory" series.
