Spoiled brat

A spoiled brat is a young child, usually and typically a girl, that is constantly doted on by her parents. Usually, the doting causes the child to act very rude and mean; a negative effect. The child isn't always grateful for items she gets, so, in her greed, she wants more. Often, if the child gets a response of "no", the child will likely tend to scream, shout, cry, hit others, and stomp her feet until she gets what she wants.

The stereotypical spoiled brat image is the girl always wears a dress, sometimes has pigtails, and is usually spoiled by her father, but sometimes some girls are spoiled by one parent or both. The image probably became popular in the 1960s with the appearance of Veruca Salt in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
