The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang

The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang is a video game which was released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Spike McFang is the main character. The game follows the adventures of a young vampire, Spike, who is forced to do battle with evil forces attempting to invade his parent's kingdom. The game itself featured a slightly strange gameplay style, and in the American release was made more family friendly, replacing Spike's penchant for eating creature's hearts to regain health with a hunger for tomatos. Over the course of the game, Spike is forced to battle any number of bizarre foes, including bipedal garlic cloves. He is also able to utilize playing cards that grant him any number of fascinating abilites, including, but not limited to:

Invisibility

Invulnerability

Turning all foes into small, furry animals

Grabbing a balloon and floating to safety.

While by no means a video game one might call a classic, or even remotely popular, it has found its niche amongst cult fans of quirky, early adventure games. Spike as a character has a very distinct look about him, sporting a sort of blue tuxedo vest, a cape, and a blue top hat with a lighting bolt stuck in the band.
