Space pirate

Space pirates are a rather prevalent theme in works of science fiction.

The Space Pirates was the title of a 1969 Doctor Who serial from the sixth season of the programme, starring Patrick Troughton and written by Robert Holmes. Other space pirates were featured in many of the show's other storylines.
In the original Star Trek television series, the Orion Pirates menaced many space travelers.
The Starjammers are a team of space pirates from the pages of the X-Men comic books published by Marvel Comics.
In the Star Wars Expanded Universe, numerous space pirates raid commerce, such as the Des'maric Pirates or Cavrilhu Pirates.
Zebesian Space Pirates are featured in the Metroid video game series.
