Space Opera was a role-playing game created by Edward E. Simbalist, A. Mark Ratner, and Phil McGregor for Fantasy Games Unlimited in 1981. It was one of the first space-based role-playing games, but overcomplex and unwieldy rules failed to gain it market share over other games such as Traveller, and it is long out of print.
