Southern League Premier Division

The Southern League Premier Division is a football league covering central and south western England. From the 2004–05 season, it will be at step 3 of the National League System, and the 7th tier overall in the English football league system.

At the end of each season, the winners of the Premier Division are promoted to either Conference North or Conference South, together with the winners of a series of playoffs between the 2nd to 5th placed teams. The bottom 4 clubs are relegated to step 4, probably either the Southern League Division One West or Division One East.

The division is at the same level as the Northern Premier League Premier Division and the Isthmian League Premier Division.
