Sota Higurashi

Sota Higurashi (日暮草太 Higurashi Sōta) is a character in the anime and manga series InuYasha.

Sota is the younger brother of Kagome Higurashi. He is sometimes jealous of her adventures in the Sengoku Period and would very much like to accompany her to the past. However, Kagome always refuses to take him there, claiming that the feudal era is too dangerous for Sota. Even so, he deeply cares for his sister, and sometimes worries about her when she is away. Sōta helps Kagome keep up with her studies, reminding her of tests and even speaking to her teachers for her.

Sota sees InuYasha as a role model and tries to spend time with him when he is in the modern age. Sota even calls InuYasha "Inu no nii-chan" (犬の兄ちゃん, dog brother). He is always concerned when InuYasha and Kagome are not getting along, and tries to get them to make up.
