Sophie, Hereditary Princess of Liechtenstein

Her Royal Highness Hereditary Princess Sophie von und zu Liechtenstein (born October 28, 1967), née Her Royal Highness Princess Sophie of Bavaria, Duchess in Bavaria is the wife of HSH Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein. She is also in the line of succession to the Jacobite pretendership to the throne of Great Britain.

Her Royal Highness Sophie Elisabeth Marie Gabrielle, Princess of Bavaria was born in Munich, the daughter of TRH Prince Max-Emanuel and Princess Elisabeth (née Countess Douglas) of Bavaria. In 1973, her father was granted the title of Duke in Bavaria by HRH Duke Albrecht of Bavaria, the Head of the Family at the time. Sophie was now styled Her Royal Highness Princess Sophie of Bavaria, Duchess in Bavaria.

From 1978 to 1980, Princess Sophie attended the Girls' Home Primary School of the English Lady in Heiligenstatt. She then changed to the Girls' Secondary Boarding School Hohenburg in Lenggries. Duchess Sophie then studied the English language and literature at the Catholic University in Eichstätt.

Duchess Sophie married HSH The Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein on July 3, 1993. The Hereditary Prince and Princess have four children:

It is interesting to note that the Hereditary Princess will probably become the Jacobite claimant to the throne of Great Britain. Her childless uncle, HRH Duke Franz of Bavaria, is the current claimant.
