Soma Cruz

Soma Cruz is the protagonist from the game Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. Soma is a nineteen-year-old exchange student studying in Japan in the year 2035. During this year, the first solar eclipse of the twenty first century is about to occur, and many crowds of spectators have gathered to see it. Soma is at the Hakuba Shrine, where his childhood friend Mina is the daughter of the caretaker. The Hakuba shrine, however, is the gateway to Castlevania, as he and others at the shrine are sucked in by the castle's power, as it hears the call of its master.

Depending on the player's actions throughout the game, Soma discovers that Dracula is truly and finally dead, and Castlevania seeks a new master. Soma's powers and Dracula's soul are one and the same. If the player takes the correct course of action, Soma becomes the new Lord of the Vampires, or evades his dark fate.
