SoFo
The area SoFo, or "South of Folkungatan" lays on Södermalm directly to the South of Folkungatan and is bounded to the East and West by Tjärhovsgatan and Södermanagatan.
The name SoFo is a pun on SOHO, the districts in London and Manhattan, and is an invention of local entrepreneurs who since 2003 have attempted to re-brand the area as a centre of creative and innovative retailing.
Although compact, SoFo also offers a wide selection of restaurants, bars and coffee shops and art galleries and is home to many of other creative industries in Stockholm, including advertising, media and publishing.
Other local places of interest include Nytorget, a city square with a childrens play area and small park and Vitbergsparken, a local park which commands excellent views over Stockholm. Vitbergsparken also has an open air theatre which has performances of music and dance during the summer, and offers steep tobogganing in the winter.
SoFo is accesible via Medborgplatsen underground station and the number 2 and 3 bus, both of which are blue. --Tomcomport 14:18, 3 May 2005 (UTC)
