Sidekicks
Sidekicks is a 1992 movie about a kid called Barry Gabrewski who has asthma. He has a lot of daydreams about being Chuck Norris's sidekick, the two of them battling against Barry's school bullies. He lives with his dad Jerry Gabrewski. Barry gets a job working for an old chinese man called Mr. Lee, in his chinese restaurant. Mr. Lee decides to teach Barry some Karate so that he can defend himself from the bullies. He later enters a tournament where he confronts his bullies. This movie has many elements in common with Karate Kid.
Chuck Norris plays a stylised version of himself. The late Jonathan Brandis plays Barry Gabrewski. Danica McKellar plays his love interest, Lauren. Beau Bridges plays his dad Jerry Gabrewski. Mako plays Mr. Lee, the old chinese man who teaches him Karate.
