Sibsi
A sibsi or sebse is a traditional Moroccan pipe used to smoke Kif (Keef), which is a mix of cannabis and black tobacco. The sibsi is normally made from a hard wood, such as almond or walnut, with the main body being about 18", 45cm long. A clay pipe head, called a skuff, is used to smoke the kif. Subata (plural of sibsi) from the South of Morocco are shorter than those from the North of Morocco. A shorter sibsi produces hotter smoke. A filled sibsi is normally smoked with several sharp intakes, followed by blowing back through the pipe to clear the ash and smoke. The sibsi is then re-filled and passed to the next person who wants to smoke. Sibsi smokers are common sights in the North of Morocco where the practice is widely spread. An opposite attitude exists from Rabat southwards.
