Shonan Monorail

A Japanese monorail service in Kanagawa prefecture, 30 miles or 50 km south of Tokyo. It is a suspended monorail. The line opened on 3rd March 1970, and was the first monorails of the kind in Japan.

The trains travels about 4.1 miles or 6.6 km every 7–8 minutes between Ofuna and Enoshima, making 6 stops. The average length of a single trip is 13–4 minutes.

As the line is located within commuting distance of Tokyo, it is important mean of transportation for the local residents.
