Shippingport Reactor

The Shippingport power plant, located in Shippingport, Pennsylvania was the first commercial nuclear power plant built in the United States. The reactor was a pressurized water reactor capable of an output of 60 MWe. It began operating on December 2, 1957. It was in operation until 1982.
