Shedad
In Arabian belief, Shedad is one of Ad's sons. After Ad's death, his sons Shadid and Shedad reigned in succession over the Adites. In Shedad's time, the Adites were 1,000 tribes. Then, each tribe was made up of thousands of men. They say that he made great conquests. He subdued, it is said, all Arabia and Irak (Iraq). The migration of the Canaanites, their establishment in Syria, and the Shepherd invasion of Egypt are, by many Arab writers, attributed to an expedition of Shedad.
