Sexual ritual

Sexual rituals fall into two categories, culture created, and natural behaviour.

The human animal has developed culture, including sex rituals which are abstraction of behaviours, based on developed evolutionary instincts. Ritualistic behaviours are an incarnation of species development, upon which reproductive rights are negotiated or won.

With humans, the difference being, these behaviours are integrated into the society, and ornamented to include social aspects, such as marriage rites, dances, and so on. Sometimes the sexual rituals are highly formalized and/or part of religious activity, as in the cases of the hierodule and the OTO.
