Ryabko's Systema
Mikhail Ryabko, a General in the Russian military, has past military, special forces and traditional Russian martial arts training. The strongest influence of his Systema is from traditional russian martial arts, originally through a member of Sokoli Stalina (Stalin's Falcons – Joseph Stalin's personal bodyguards.)
Despite generally being categorized as a martial art, Systema includes many health-giving exercises. Some Systema practitioners douse in cold-water. Typically, a bucket of cold water is left out to chill overnight; then poured over the head while standing outside in one's bare feet on the earth. Other healing practices include massage, special healing strikes and exercises which drastically enhance strength through the natural range of motion.
