Ruzinov
Ružinov lies in the eastern part of Bratislava. It is the city's second most populated city part, housing over 70,000 inhabitants.

Past
In place of todays Ružinov there were originally meadows, pastures, grasslands and woodland, interspersed with islands and channels of the Danube.
Characteristics
Today Ružinov is the location for many significant industrial businesses, shopping centres, financial businesses and banks. Industrial plants such as Slovnaft and Gumon, in addition to others, are located here. Apart from the chemical industry it is home to food and construction industries. The main market place, Miletička, Bratislavas largest and most frequented, is also located in Ruinov. The Milan Rastislav Štefánik international airport is also located here.
Despite its industrial character, Ružinov is considered to be a realtively green part of Bratislava. In contrast to other city districts it is rich in rivers and lakes, which total of 61.6 hectares in surface area. At the heart of Ružinov is the Štrkovec Lake area, a major recreational and sporting centre of Bratislava. Other lakes include the Rohlík Lake and Zlaté Piesky.
Sports
Many sport clubs are based in Ruinov: the FK Rapid football club, the volleyball club Slávia UK, the wrestling club Dunajplavba and the hockeyball club K H.O.K. Nivy are only the most important ones.
