Ruza
Ruza (Руза in Russian) is an administrative center of the Ruzsky District of the Moscow Oblast in Russia. It is located on the Ruza River, a tributary of the Moscow River, 100 km west of Moscow.
Ruza was first mentioned in 1339 as a part of the Principality of Zvenigorod. It became a part of the Muscovy in the early 16th century. The town was a fortress, which protected Moscow from the west.
