Roy (Fire Emblem)
Roy is a fictional swordfighter from the Fire Emblem series of video games. His only appearance in the games has been in Fire Emblem 6: The Sword of Seals. His father is Eliwood, who is the hero of Fire Emblem 7: Blazing Sword, the first Fire Emblem game to be released outside Japan. Roy begins as a "Lord" class and, near the end of Fire Emblem 6: The Sword of Seals, is promoted into the "Master Lord" class. In Fire Emblem 6, Roy and his followers set out to defend their country against the invading country of Bern. Roy is also the only character that can wield the Sword of Seals.
Roy has also appeared in Super Smash Bros. Melee, where he is one of the four swordfighters in the game, along with Marth, Link and Young Link. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Roy wields the Sword of Seals, while Marth wields the divine sword Falchion, Link wields the Master Sword, and Young Link wields the Kokiri Sword from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. His smash attacks — the moves in Melee which send your opponent flying, eventually catapulting them off the map — are extraordinarily powerful. However, he is a poor aerial fighter. Roy is also one of the few characters with a one hit KO move, although it takes long to charge.
