Rover (bark)

In 1867, the American merchant bark, Rover, wrecked off the coast of Formosa. The entire crew was killed by local Formosans.

Admiral Henry H. Bell led an expedition against them, including USS Wyoming and USS Hartford. Alexander Slidell MacKenzie was killed in the action on 13 June 1867.
