Rovellons
Rovellons is the name of the main mushroom in Mediterranean forest areas. It is a Catalan and Spanish name for this type of champignon. It is named Rovellon from the Catalan word "rovell" which is the inner part of an egg for its aspect. In the Gerona area it is called "pinetell" because it is collected near wild pine trees in October after it has rained in late August. Prices are high — above 20 US dollars per kilogram.
