Rota (formation)

Rota was in mediaeval Poland an infantry or cavalry unit. Between the 15th until 17th century the alternative name of Chorągiew.

Since the second half of the 17th century name for units of foreign mercenaries contingent (6 soldiers). In the 18th century the name for a row of soldiers standing in order.
