Rose Heilbron

Rose Heilbron was one of the earliest women to practice as barristers in the UK.

In 1949, along with Helen Normanton, she became one of the first women King's Counsel at the English Bar.

On 4 January 1972 she was appointed as the first female judge to sit at the Old Bailey, Elizabeth Lane having been previously appointed the first female judge in the County court (1962) and High court (1965).
