Rodrigo Ruiz

Rodrigo "Pony" Ruiz (born May 10, 1972 in Santiago) is a Chilean football (soccer) player, who currently plays for Santos Laguna of the Primera División de México. He wears the number 11 on the back of his soccer shirt and is one of the most popular and loved players by the people.

National Team

During the qualifiers to the World Cup France 1998, Rodrigo Ruiz played a match with the chilean national team against Uruguay at Centenario Stadium. The final result was 0–1.

Since that match, Rodrigo Ruiz did not play for Chile anymore.

Career in Chile

Ruiz was one of the best players in the chilean team Unión Española. There He played the Copa Libertadores, where the team lost in quaterfinals against Sao Paulo.
