Rodrigo Madanes
Rodrigo Madanes Ph.D. (1st April 1968)is a Linguist, Sociologist and Software developer. Madanes gained his Ph.D. in Education from University of California, Berkeley. Rodrigo is formerly a developer with Apple.
He is equally well known in the IT industry for his bizarre working methods that include his supposed move to Guatemala when he was due to deliver for his June Ph.D. orals.
Madanes(1997) study of behaviour and planning explains how teachers make two very different classes of moves that help students generally get along (support moves), or, more specifically (critical moves) aim at shaping the way students interpret the task and what knowledge they bring to bear on it.
Madanes other work includes "When Terms Collide: Clarifying Diverse Accounts of Teacher Knowledge" (Journal of Mathematical Behavior 1997) with M.G Sherin and B. Sherin.
Rodrigo Madanes' latest project is a highly anticipated work in the field of disaster planning and the phases of Jupiter, it currently has the just the working title of CR190.
