Projected expressways or under construction:

There are no tolls for using the motorways in Romania, except the sections containing bridges over Danube: on A2 at Feteşti and Cernavodă and on the DN2A road at Giurgeni and Vadu Oii. Nevertheless every car that uses a motorway or a national road (DN) in Romania must wear a sticker called rovigneta on the windscreen; the sticker can be bought at the main gas stations.

National roads

The seven one-digit (trunk) national roads start off in Bucharest in a radial pattern. They are numbered clockwise, starting from DN1 which heads north. The two-digit national roads run across the trunk roads, interconnecting them. A road identified by a number plus a letter is generally a branch of the road with the respective number.
