Riquewihr

Riquewihr, known as Reichenweiher in German, is a village in Alsace that is a popular tourist attraction for its historical architecture. Of great age the town is still surrounded by its Medieval fortifications and is overlooked by a castle from the same period that is today a museum. Originally the property of the Dukes of Wurtemburg the town was converted to Protestantism in the sixteenth century.

It was one of the few towns in the area not to be badly damaged in the Second World War.
