Rinard Mills, Ohio
Rinard Mills, Ohio is a lovely small village on the Little Muskingum River ("the crick") and is named for a historic figure, Isaac Rinard, who had a famous mill at that place. The town is situated on State Route 26, a scenic route that stretches from Marietta, county seat of Washington County, to Woodsfield, county seat of Monroe County, and beyond. The road from New Matamoras, Ohio comes down English Hill, across the Rinard Mills bridge and intersects with SR 26 in front of what used to be known as Dye's Store.
The Rinard Mills Cemetery is a beautiful spot. Several years ago, a resident of the small community found the remains of a mill stone in the Little Muskingum. It was incorporated into Isaac Rinard's grave marker and was cause for a delightful dedication and celebration with descendants, friends, genealogists, historians and neighbors gathering for a gala afternoon.
