Right of survivorship

Right of survivorship is a term used in property law to describe a particular aspect of two types of joint tenancies in real property. In a joint tenancy with right of survivorship, and in a tenancy by the entirety, if one owner dies, that owner's interest in the property will pass to the other owner.
