Rick Allen (drummer)

At 15, Rick Allen (born November 1, 1963) started as the drummer for the hard rock group Def Leppard that enjoyed strong commercial success. In 1984, while driving his Corvette with his girlfriend in the UK, he slammed into a wall and lost his left arm. Through perseverance, the support of his band mates, and a custom drum kit, he remained with the band to enjoy continued success.

Rick initiated a charity called the Raven Drum Foundation, located in Malibu, Ca, to encourage disabled children to overcome their challenges. Raven Drum helps many disadvantaged people heal emotionally and spiritually through the art of music. Rick was married on October 11, 2003 to Lauren Monroe, co-founder of Raven Drum Foundation who works with energy healing and natural healings. Rick has a daughter, Lauren Shane Allen by a previous marriage. Rick is a kind and generous man who is greatly appreciative of his fans and supporters.
