Rice Lake WI

Rice Lake WI is a city with slightly over 8,000 inhabitants. Rice Lake was first settled by the indians ( Rice Lake has some indian burial parks), then lumber barons and their employees (hired farmworkers) chopped pretty much all of the huge trees that comprised of our forests.

After all the trees were removed, there was big business for a while in stump removal. When stumps and stones were cleared, farmers started sowing their seeds into the ground and tending to their cattle. As farming became an efficient trade, more shops came into Rice Lake, then factories developed because people sought more efficient ways of producing.

Now, in 2005, Rice Lake, has lost a lot of work due to China (Wrights factory went there) and automation (McCains (replaced 80 workers with machines). Rice Lake has entered the golden age of being known as a "service city". City officials like to describe Rice Lake, WI as the city of 8,000 people serving 80,000 because of the kind of traffic that Rice Lake brings with its super center structure (Walmart, Menards, Kmart, Shopko, Office Max).
