Plot synopsis
The game is set during the infamous Clone Wars that was started at the climax of the movie Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. In it, the player is expected to take command of a clone commmando team, made up of elite clone troopers. These clone troopers have been specially bred at the clone factories on Kamino. The commando team will travel to various locations in the Star Wars universe, including Kashyyyk and Geonosis, as well as derelict spacecraft. The game will be the first in the Star Wars universe to feature a militaristic style, which will set a darker tone than other games that are a part of Star Wars.
In the beginning Delta Sqaud is deployed from the RAS Prosecutor individually into the front lines of the battle on Geonosis, there Boss (the Player Character) meets up with Scorch, Fixer, and Sev in their initial mission to kill the Geonosian leader Sun Fac. After accomplishing this objective they sabotage the droid factory underneath Sun Fac's headqaurters and then sneak onto a CIS Core Ship, disabling it and stealing important Launch Codes escaping just as the self destruct counted down to 1 second remaining. The Jedi above took the majority of the glory.
A year into the war the now veteran Delta Sqaud is sent to investigate the derelict Republic Assault Ship Prosecutor, their first ship. The Sqaud splits up to investigate. Ominous sounds of metal straining and flicking lighting only test the Commando's courage more when they begin to loose contact with each other one by one. Boss continues fighting off Scavenger Droids and comes across Trandoshan mercenaries. He single handedly fights his way through collecting information from the ship and reviving fallen teammates. Once his team is together again they destroy the Trandoshan dropship when CIS Capital Ship drops out of hyperspace nearby- the Trandoshans were selling the vessel in exchange for arms. As Republic reinforcements are en route, Delta Sqaud defends the vessel against insurmountable odds holding back hordes of battledroids. Showing the ingenuiety capable of by only Commandos they destroy the docking shield stabilizers allowing nothing to pass through and code the auto turrets while under fire saving the vessel and its recently arived escourt.
The war drags on and Delta Sqaud participates in ever increasingly dangerous missions. A cry of help his heard by the Republic from the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk. Delta Sqaud is sent to rescue General Tarrful from Trandoshans slavers, after spotting General Grievous himself in one of the compounds and fighting off his Elite Droid Guard they learn of the CIS alliance with the Trandoshans. Delta Sqaud sabotages a vital Trandoshan supply depot and procedes to the key battle point of Kachiro. There they move through the Wookiee tree city securing important objectives and battling against hordes of advanced battle droids any regular Clonetrooper would fall against. They destroy the Bridge at Kachiro and procede to secure the Citadel. Soldiering through the most elite CIS forces and weaponry Delta Sqaud once again splits up to each man a Heavy AA turret against an enemy dropship. The dropship is destroyed but Sev, the Delta Sqaud Sniper and Weapons Expert, is over run by droids and presumed dead. The weary Delta Sqaud is ordered to retreat and board the Gunship, contrary to their personal feelings of brotherhood. The order apparently came from a Jedi General, Master Yoda himself. As they ascend through the treetops Master Yoda's general forces message is patched through, thanking Delta Sqaud specificly stating that "At Kachiro, meet up with Delta Sqaud, we must." As they breach the treetops the dawn of the sun is reflected by numerous Assault Ships and countless Gunships. Fade to credits.
Gameplay
The game will feature systems that have been featured in other games, including Halo, Metroid Prime and Rainbow Six. For example, in the Xbox version, one analog stick will move the commando, and the other will allow him to turn and look around. The HUD in the game will have a similar feel to it like Metroid Prime, and the squad-based order system will be similar to the Rainbow Six games. The game will also feature a multiplayer mode for deathmatch and capture the flag gameplay, with Xbox Live support for 16 players on the Xbox, and the same for PC over the Internet. It is also rumoured the PC version will contain a level editor. Also, there is a cheat for the xbox version: In gameplay, press start, then y, y, x, down, right trigger, left trigger, right trigger, up, and you will get full grenades and full ammo for whatever weapon you have out.
The Squad
The clone troopers featured in the game will have distinct personalities, different than the clone troopers in Attack of the Clones. The commandoes in Delta Squad are:
- RC-1138 (Delta Three-Eight or "Boss")
- RC-1140 (Delta Four-Oh or "Fixer")
- RC-1207 (Delta Oh-Seven or "Sev")
- RC-1262 (Delta Six-Two or "Scorch")
The four commandoes each have a specific job assigned to them. Boss is the team leader, Fixer is the second-in-command and the slicer, Sev is the diehard fighter and sniper, and Scorch is the demolitions fanatic and joker. The player in the game plays Boss. While each squad member tailors to their specific task, each member can perform any of the other tasks just as effectively.
