Remittances from overseas

Many of the Pacific island communities are heavily dependent on remittances from overseas. In the case of Samoa, as many Samoans live overseas as are located in the country. New Zealand, Australia and Hawaii are the countries that most Samoans migrate to. It is expected that the overseas worker will support the extended family remaining in country.
