Raj Persaud
Dr Raj (Rajendra) Persaud (born Reading, 13 May, 1963) is a consultant psychiatrist, broadcaster, and author of popular books about psychiatry.
He pronounces his second name "per-SWORD". He is married to an eye surgeon, and has a son and a daughter.

Academic career
Persaud was educated at the Haberdashers' Aske's School (a "public", i.e. private, school in Elstree) and at University College London. As well as his degree in Psychology (1984), he has a medical degree, an MSc in statistics, and a degree in the history of medicine. He was elected Fellow of University College London in 2000.
He is a consultant psychiatrist at the Bethlem Royal and Maudsley Hospitals and Gresham Professor for Public Understanding of Psychiatry.
Media career
Raj Persaud is a prolific broadcaster and journalist, and presents the BBC Radio 4 psychology programme All in the Mind. He is the resident psychiatrist on the well-known daytime television programme This Morning and frequently appears on radio and TV programmes, as either interviewee or presenter.
