Rad (unit)

The rad is an unit of radiation dose, with symbol rad. It is superseded in the SI by the gray; the United States is the only country to still use the rad.

1 rad = 0.01 gray (Gy) = 1 cGy = 0.01 joule of energy absorbed per kilogram of tissue.
