Rabelais Student Media
Rabelais Student Media is the student newspaper of La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia.
From its founding in 1967, Rabelais Student Media has been run as a department of the La Trobe University Students Representative Council. The paper is funded by a combination of advertising revenue and a student levy.
Rabelais Student Media has a notorious history in the Australian legal world, after the editors were charged with incitement to riot in 1995 after printing an article that condoned shop-lifting as a method to survive student poverty. After many different formats and regime changes over the years, Rabelais Student Media is published monthly and has a circulation of approx 10,000.
