Ronald Cross

Sir Ronald Hibbert Cross (1896-1968) was a British politician.

Cross was educated at Eton College and served in World War I.

At the 1931 general election, Cross was elected as Conservative Member of Parliament for Rossendale. He held a number of ministerial posts including Minister of Shipping and Minister of Economic Warfare during World War II. In 1941 he was sent to be High Commissioner in Australia. He returned in 1945 but lost his seat.

In 1950, Cross was elected in the seat of Ormskirk, Lancashire. He later served as Governor of Tasmania in the 1950s.
