Rómendacil I

In J. R. R. Tolkien's fictional universe of Middle-earth Rómendacil I was the eighth King of Gondor

Rómendacil was born as Tarostar. He was the son of King Ostoher and as crown-prince he rode against the Easterlings and defeated them.

After the victory he renamed himself to Rómendacil, meaning "East-victor" and he succeeded his father under that name in 492 T.A.

But the peace was not to last forever: forty years later in 541 T.A. the Easterlings invaded once again, and he rode to meet them in battle but was slain.

He was succeeded by his son Turambar
