Qurratulain Haider is an Indian writer of Urdu fiction. She is a strong critic of marriage as the single goal in womens lives. She challenged the inconsistency of the celebration of Mahatma Gahdhi's principals of non-violence and the cruel hunt for material goods, disrespect for women and the continuance of the caste system.
