Quo Warranto

Quo Warranto is a legal procedure that challenges the validy of a title, holding, office or other authority. Today the authority challenged in a Quo Warranto filing is a civil matter – for example the office of a company official. Sometimes it is used to challenge the power of an elected offical as well. It can also be used to challenged the validity or authority of a charter – such as one that pertains to a group, or in former times, territories and states.
