Quilicura

Quilicura is a municipality ("comuna") of Chile located on the northwest of the province of Santiago, in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. It was originally on the outskirts of the city of Santiago, but as urban sprawl has set in it is now quickly urbanizing from what was recently prime agricultural land. It has an area of 58 km², a population of 126,518 (2002 census) and an average household income of $17,509 in PPP US dollars (2000).
