Queen's Royal Irish Hussars
The Queen's Royal Irish Hussars was a United Kingdom armoured reconnaissance regiment formed from the 4th Queen's Own Hussars and the 8th King's Royal Irish Hussars in Hohne, Germany in 1958.
The regiment moved to Ipoh, Singapore in 1962 and back to Germany in 1964. In 1974 it was deployed in a tour of Cyprus, Greece as part of a UN peacekeeping force. The regiment was sent to Munster, Germany in 1982, and was later deployed to the Persian Gulf during the 1991 Persian Gulf War as part of the 7th Armoured Brigade.
In 1993, the regiment was combined with The Queen's Own Hussars to form The Queen's Royal Hussars.
