Q32

Q32 (ANFSQ-32) was a computer made by IBM (International Business Machines) in 1960 and 1961 for the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command (SAC). Three units were built and installed at SAC headquarters in outside Omaha, Nebraska, March Air Force Base, Riverside, California and System Development Corporation (SDC) headquarters, Santa Monica, California.

The computer words were 32 bits long and the main core memory was 256K words. The memory bank was oil and water cooled.

The computers were part of the SAC command and control system. SDC developed the system software using JOVIAL (Jules Own Version of an Algebric Language), one of the first high level complied programming languages.
