Public Service Alliance of Canada

The Public Service Alliance Building is a noted Ottawa landmark. Built in 1968 it is one of the capital's more striking modern buildings

The Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) is one of Canada's largest national labor unions, with members in every province and territory. PSAC members also work abroad in embassies and consulates.

While many of PSAC's 150,000 members work for the federal government or agencies as immigration officers, fisheries officers, food inspectors, customs officers and the like, an increasing number of PSAC members work in the private sector in women?s shelters, universities, security agencies and casinos. In Northern Canada, the PSAC represents most unionized workers employed by the governments of the Yukon, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories and some municipalities.

PSAC's National President is Nycole Turmel; she has held that office since 2000.
